General Descriptions:
The Automotive Technology Course prepares students for employment in the automotive service field.
Prerepu~sites:
Applicant must be a high school student working on a diploma. Adult students must have a high school diploma or GED or be enrolled in the GED program.

Length of Course:
The course requires a total of 1080 clock hours. These hours are divided between classroom study,
laboratory, and hands-on work. The break down is as follows:
Classroom: 360 Hours
Laboratory: 360 Hours

Service Excellence (ASE) in the areas of Automatic Transmission and Transaxle, Brakes, Electronic
Systems, Engine Performance, Engine Repair, Automotive Heating and Air Conditioning, Manual
Drive Train and Axles, and Suspension and Steering. We have been evaluated and approved by the
National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF).
With the ASE certification and NATF approval, the latest tools, equipment and highly skilled instructors, PCTC is prepared to provide the automotive service industry with competent, skilled and employable graduate technicians that are in such high demand.

6. What is the length of the program?
A. It is a two-year program (1080 hours) with the option of a third year for recent graduates (Thirteenth year)
B. Automotive Technology is an open-entry program (students may start at any time).
C. We offer special workshops - working with new automotive dealers and manufacturing representatives in order to update the skills of students and local industrial personnel.
